Final Conclusion...

 I have decided to go with the first poster for my final design.  The poster has shown my skills through the use of Photoshop and all the images used to make this poster are my very own.  I have also thought carefully about which type to use and I feel the type within this poster is relevant as it is effective.

As my main aim was so have fun with this project - fun I did have.  The meaning of this poster "Water is Life" is visible in a quirky way through my poster.  The water bottle resembles a gun, and the gun resembles life.  The water I have used squirting out of the bottles was from another photograph I have taken.

Typography

I have researched different ways in which typography is displayed on posters related to water.  Each of the above, I feel are very well thought out and created and they have put the main message across through the use of type.  Although typography will be a key factor within my poster, I want to express the meaning of "Water is Life" through type and images.

 As I want the type to stand out in my poster for "Water is Life" I have downloaded various fonts from www.myfont.com to make this achievable.  The fonts I have downloaded are quirky which will be appropriate for my poster.

I have researched ways in which effects make an impact through text.  The above images are those which were related to water.  Each of them are designed differently but give out the same message and meaning.

My own Photography

In order for me to develop my designs, I took the opportunity of gathering my own photographs.  I want my "Water is Life" poster to be fun and quirky for the younger generation.  I had taken a photos of my little cousin, with nice landscape views of Derry and the sky to make the background effect I have in mind.



I have picked a few photographs that I feel have turned out best.  With this selection, I will develop a background for my final poster.  Through the use of Photoshop my skills shall make the photography more effective and appropriate for my quirky poster.


These are photographs I had taken of my little cousin, it was so much fun! Getting a little toddler to stand and pose isn't as easy as I had thought (bribing with sweets was the easy part)!!  These pictures will be visible through the design development which will progress on to the final poster.

Exploring Idea's (Presentation)

Having my presentation already completed, here are a few slides that I feel are relevant for posting onto my blog.  "Exploring Idea's" was the slide that contained pages from my sketch pad and what I had in mind for my "Water is Life" Poster.  Page 1 within the first slide gives images and ideas on how I can make my final poster effective.  As the sprite advert had given me inspiration, It was time for me to think of how my poster can resemble the quirky idea but as my own.  Page 2 within the first slide also give my idea in a nutshell, I have the idea of using water bottles as a gun, with possible water squirting out.  I think that imagination is key for this as I want to have fun with it.  I will be using my own photography to make the poster more unique.

This slide is "Design Development" showing with just a few words on how I plan to develop my idea.  The sprite advert is to the left, which I plan on using as inspiration.  We have Water = Gun..Gun = Life.  This shall be visible in my final poster.

Sprite Advert

My idea is to design a poster similar to the sprite advert above.  With this, I will think about using my own photography, having bottled water rather than sprite.  As the sprite bottle is seen as a gun on the first poster and a weapon on the second, this will resemble life in my poster as the water will be a weapon also.  Im thinking of doing a water effect for the text to emphazie the meaning.

Water is Life.

I have decided to design a poster based on "Water is Life".  Initial ideas are to design a professional poster that will appeal to individuals world wide.  As water is to do with life, it is important to show this link in the poster that is going to be designed.

As the aim of this competition is for the younger generation, a catchy poster which will catch the eye is the idea I have in mind.

My Poster

Here is my Poster.  As the brief was "I am an egg. I am your client", it could have been about anything!

I have designed the poster above to follow a series of cadburys posters.  They had all the same slogan, product and caption at the end.  I had decided to base my egg on an Easter egg and had come up with this poster.  I had investigated "Cadburys Easter egg posters" and not one came up.  I thought by designing this poster in the style as the previous posters it would show profession and similarities.

 I have come across this series of posters online that I think are pretty cool.  I am going to design a forth poster for this series and relate it to Easter eggs. 

Although the title on these posters is "life's uncertain" I will add my own little twist to make my poster, my own!

Page Four - Advertisement

Page four - This is an Advertisement research page I have created.  On this design, you can see a number of ways in which Easter eggs are advertised.  There was no Easter egg advertisement which was a tad strange.  I was expecting whilst researching that I would find unending posters advertising Easter eggs and chocolate brands but I didn't.  The advertisements above consist of:

• What comes first - A Simple advertisement, showing the bird or the Easter egg.
• Creme Egg - Gala, Red carpet.  
• Easter Yummy - Fair Trade chocolate and Oxfam logo.
• Easter egg packages - Displayed on shop shelfs. 
• Half price luxury egg - Online special offers
• Carlsberg Easter egg - "Please enjoy responsibly" Warning to individuals over Easter.

Maybe my Easter Egg Poster is a better idea than what i thought!!

 Looking online for Easter egg posters that advertise branding has led me to believe that there are very few out there! These posters are the three that I have found whilst researching which are advertising the Creme egg, not actually an Easter egg.

I like these posters, there very catchy and i love the way the type is created!

Page Two - I have gathered research on some chocolate companies.  These are the most popular brands that make Easter Eggs.  Later on in the design development, I will be choosing a brand and designing a poster for them.

I have decided to go with Easter Egg, as we are extremely time limited, My pages will consist of research, concept and design development.  At the minute, I am going to use a brand like Cardburys, Nestle or Thortons.  With this brand I am going to design a poster.

I have decided to go with this coloured Beer Mat. I feel that if this mat was placed on a table it would definitely stand out and make individuals pick it up.

This is the design of the back of the Beer Mat. I had thought alot on how to display the relevant information.  I wanted my instructions to be clear and concise, therefore with keywords and images, individuals will know what to in an emergency.
